What regions in Mexico are you visiting on this trip?
We just visited Puerto Escondido on the Pacific Coast, it was just perfect. Such a cool, calm little surf town... I wasn't ready to leave. As I'm writing this, we are in transit heading to Tulum on the Caribbean.
Do you have a favourite local artist or artesian in Mexico?
I’ve always been fascinated by Frida Kahlos’s work and her use of vibrant colours, her story is inspiring. I appreciated the artworks I saw in the local galleries and from the artists on the streets. Prominently I saw skeleton and skull artworks called 'Calaca' that symbolise death and mortality in Mexican culture which I found super interesting and worth having a read up on. I think I'll be taking home a sculpture or painting from this trip.
Describe your dream vacation evening?
Catching our own fish and cooking it at a beach front restaurant in La Punta while sipping a margarita with my boyfriend. Haha. Real life!
What’s your go to style for walking the streets of Mexico?
It's seriously scorching hot, so anything light and breathable is a must! A linen dress or vintage Levi's with bikinis underneath is my jam -I'm all for comfort.
Mexico is so vibrant in architecture, music, people- how do you immerse yourself in the culture?
Aprendo lo basico...
